China’s offshore leading supplier striving for global excellence China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) is a major state owned enterprise group in China, established in July 1999 on the basis of the reorganization of the old China State Shipbuilding Corporation. CSIC is one of China's largest Shipbuilding and Shiprepairing group, incorporated 43 industrial enterprises and 28 research institutes. The group has total assets of 36.6 billion US dollars and a workforce of 150,000. CSIC possess the largest shipbuilding & shiprepairing facilities as well as the largest offshore engineering base in China. CSIC's product range extends beyond the maritime industries. With its strong ability in developing, manufacturing and assembling large complete equipment, CSIC has developed and produced hundreds of non-marine products that are implemented in more than 10 industries covering over 30 business sectors, such as energy, petrochemical, transportation, automatic

logistics, environmental protection, electronic information, coal mining, 

port machinery, medical treatment, etc. CSIC is among the first enterprises that entered the offshore engineering market in China. Since building the first offshore platform for domestic clients in the 1970s, CSIC has accumulately built more than 30 offshore platforms and more than 30 offshore working ships. The jack-ups, FPSOs and working ships developed and built in series serve a wide range of clients from both domestic and aboard. In 2009, CSIC successfully delivered the first 6th generation of semi-submersible drilling platform built in China —“Continental Shelf 6” for Noble Corporation marking China’s achievement of global advance in offshore engineering industry.
