PetroTiger provides Hydrocarbon and Services for national oil companies (NOCs), super-majors, independent petroleum companies, global mining corporations and local, national and supra-national government authorities. PetroTiger operates under two divisions:

  • Hydrocarbon Field Services
  • Engineering & Construction Services

History

Founded by Joseph Sigelman and Knut Hammarskjöld. They embarked on creating the PetroTiger platform to become the largest hydrocarbon production and EPC services company in the region.[1]

Hydrocarbon Services

In August, 2009, PetroTiger acquired Production Testing Services (“PTS”), the market-leading petroleum production services provider for the Andean Region, headquartered in Bogota, Colombia, with 20 years of experience. The firm’s 20-year expertise underlies its capacity for completing piecemeal and integrated petroleum field solutions, including well testing, cased hole and open hole services in addition to surface facilities design and construction, petroleum field operation and maintenance and BOT/BOOT/EPCM contracts. PetroTiger manages field operations from reservoir to pipeline.[2]

Infrastructure Services

In October, 2008, PetroTiger acquired Gómez, Cajiao y Asociados (“Gomez, Cajiao”), an engineering, design, construction and project management services company. Gomez, Cajiao serves leading corporations and government agencies and focuses on civil, mechanical, process, structural and environmental engineering. The firm brings expertise built on 40 years of experience on assignments that cover feasibility studies, basic engineering studies, conceptual engineering and architectural designs, detailed design blueprints, construction supervision and project management. In 2009, Gomez, Cajiao was merged into PetroTiger’s Infrastructure Services Division, serving the Hydrocarbon, Mining, Geotechnical, Energy & Power, Transportation and Water industries. The firm’s case history includes the design and construction management of the URRA Hydro-Electric Dam and the 30-year long-term design and project management partnership with the largest open-pit coal mine in the world.[3]

HSEQ

PetroTiger’s Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (“HSEQ”) System is based on Responsible Care which allows the integration of fundamental processes related to occupational health, safety, environment and quality. PetroTiger enjoys one of the best-in-market ratings on the Recorded Injury and Illness Frequency Index (RIIF) and is certified in compliance with all industry standards, including ISO 9001:2000, OHSAS 18001:2007, RUC (100%) and ISO 14001:2004. In August 2009, PetroTiger’s PTS subsidiary received the ARP SURA Excellence Prize for Central Colombia, awarded to the firm with the best performance in and management of Occupational Health and Safety.[4] The once every three year prize is reserved for the Colombian company which excels in the management and control of risk and elevates the standard for Occupational Health and Safety across industries.
