Summary

Under general supervision, works in conjunction with other supply chain personnel to analyze company and industry trends in key categories, supplier groups, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Develops, enhances, tests and implements reports to support processes and required metrics. Coordinates and utilizes various data sources to identify and determine market and cost trends. Supports the development and execution of strategies and tactics related to the successful management of assigned product category. Actively participates in sourcing, evaluation and selection of suppliers required to support the needs of the category. Supports Category Management in the evaluating and monitoring supply capacity to ensure immediate and future continuity of supply for product category. Supports the product development process with Suppliers and internal customers. Promotes and supports successful supplier relationships by providing supplier management and development support. Develops request for quotations, analyzes results, and provides summarized results to support decisions related to allocating business based on the most effective overall decision considering quality, cost, capacity, and supply base development. Continually reviews and improves all processes related to the procurement function and supplier relationship. Actively participates on cross-functional project teams dedicated to the development of key business initiatives. Strong support in managing resolution of quality issues. Periodic supplier visits required. Performs other duties as assigned. -

Required Qualifications

Completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Industrial Distribution or similar discipline Minimum of 1 year experience working in an analytical/metrics focused capacity Capability to develop a detailed understanding of products and product markets Understands the principles of Supply Chain:- specifically supplier sourcing, development, negotiations/contract development, security of supply and total cost of ownership Strong analytical and problem solving skills Highly flexible Effective verbal and written communication skills and effective listening skills Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment Computer literate in PC based systems, software (Word & Excel required, Power Point preferred) -

Strongly Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of requirements planning and inventory management. Strong working knowledge of all functional areas effecting the Purchasing function including Distribution, Finance, Manufacturing, Product Development, IT and Accounting APICS or ISM Certification (CPIM, CSCP, CPM) MBA degree 3 plus years of related experience Cost modeling experience SAP experience -
