Sr. Civil/Structural Designer - Arlington, TX

We do detail engineering for Midstream companies on Pipelines, Pumps, Compressor & Meter Stations, Tank Farms, Gas Plants, and Dehydration Units.Job Title: Senior Civil/Structural DesignerResponsibilities:

Coordinate project civil/structural activities including in house and vendor information with process, piping, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation disciplines.

Perform layout studies and assisting lead Civil/Structural engineer in developing MTOs, schedule for deliverables and scope of work.

Independently develop CAD drawings from sketches with minimal supervision for concrete, steel, grading, drainage and roads.

Perform field familiarity with management of survey data , GIS experience is considered an asset for related work, collect design information, verify designs for tie-ins and any other on-site assistance during startup or construction support.

Completes grading plans using Civil 3D and determine earthwork volumes (cuts and fills) based on existing and proposed topography, identify appropriate construction control systems on plans (i.e., baselines, stationing, control points, etc.) and prepares profiles/sections

Initialize projects in CAD (AutoCad & Civil 3D), utilize survey points to create contours in civil 3D for the base drawing, complete appropriate project sheets and design elements such as site and horizontal control plans; paving, grading, and drainage plans; roadway plan and profiles; notes; etc.

3D modeling & 2D drafting to produce concrete foundation construction drawings with rebar details from Engineer's sketch or verbal instructions.

Perform layout and design drafting of structural steel for various platforms, stairways, skids and other structural members using Cadworx 2016 steel module.

Work with other teams to obtain reference information (experience In AutoCAD xref and overlay) for drawings.

Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work and work with project team to execute projects on time and on budget.  

Qualification:

Minimum 10+ years of experience a must in piping providing civil/structural drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Minimum 10+ years of experience in AutoCad 2D drafting & 3D modeling - CADWorx 2014 and later is a plus.

Detailing structural platform for Petro-Chemical and Oil-Gas civil structural industry.

Must have structural (foundation) experience.

Ability to create accurate civil/structural construction document and specification.

Civil/Structural side - Must have experience with concrete details for piping, equipment foundation and structural drawings.

Structural detailed drawings for platforms, walkways, etc.

Experience in civil grading drawings using Civil 3D

Must have experience in detailing concrete foundation, structural detailing experience a plus

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as presentation skill.

Ability to perform limited field surveying using level, total station and tapes.

Must be willing to work in both disciplines per the project needs without hesitation.

Must be able to accept short term business trips with short notice.

Familiarity with management of survey data , GIS experience is considered an asset
