Description

Schlumberger has an opening in Houston, Texas for a Senior Tax Analyst. The Senior Tax Analyst will assist with the preparation of federal and state compliance and have an intermediate understanding of internal Revenue Code and applicable state rules and regulations. In addition, will assist under the supervision of management for monthly, quarterly and yearly tax computations for tax provision and consolidated return reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

 


The candidate may work on any of the following:

 

 

Assist with the preparation of the international, federal and state income and franchise tax returns for members of the consolidated group of companies and ensure accurate and timely filings to minimize assessments and penalties. Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax estimated tax payments and extensions. Assist in the gathering and preparation of documentation related to the company's income tax provision. Assist in the gathering and preparation of the documentation for the annual R&D Tax Credit and Section 199 deduction. Prepare state apportionment schedules Gather data and prepare form 5472 and FBARS Assist in the process of the resolution of state and federal tax notices and tax audits with various external auditors and tax advisors, federal, state, and local governmental agencies Reconciling data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracy. Analyze and reconcile federal and state tax accounts and prepare internal reporting of tax accounts Prepare JE’s related to tax as a part of month end close. Analyze fixed asset data and maintain tax depreciation records. Research federal, state, and local laws & regulations and proactively monitor legislative changes Perform other duties as may be assigned.  

Qualifications & Experience

 

 

BA/BS degree in Accounting Minimum 5 years of professional Corporate Tax experience with a medium or large CPA Firm. Working and direct knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance. Knowledge and experience conducting tax research databases such as, RIA Strong organizational and documentation skills with a high level of accuracy. Ability to effectively work independently as well as in an “open” team orientated environment. Strong reconciliation, analytical skills with the ability to develop new processes as needed. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ASC 740. Proficiency with Excel, SAP, Hyperion (HFM) and working knowledge with OneSource tax system products (income/provision) tax software system a plus Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
