Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Mooring Engineer located in Houston, Texas.    Requisition ID#179201Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Provide mooring engineering specialist consultation to support Phase 2-4 offshore capital projects and Phase 5 operations, particularly when faced with complex design or operational challenges. Support BUs and partners worldwide in solving problems in operation, inspection, monitoring, maintenance, and repair of mooring systems. Review, verify and approve analysis/design of mooring systems by serving as an in-house SME who is familiar with analysis methods and tools. Provide onsite technical support during the installation of mooring systems, and anchor/pile foundations for floating production or drilling units. Manage procurements for on board and off board mooring items including chain jacks, fairleads, chain, wire/polyester ropes and anchor piles. Pursue mooring engineering technology development opportunities, development of internal engineering standards, contribute to multi-disciplinary studies, promote operational excellence and share lessons learned. Participate in industry committees developing codes and standards related to mooring and station keeping.  Participate in joint-industry R&D projects to search for solutions or advance technologies in mooring engineering.  Required Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or higher in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering. A minimum of 10 of years of advanced experience in mooring engineering and naval architecture. Hands-on experience with mooring design practices, analysis methods and tools. Strong oral and written communication skills including email, technical memoranda and reports and presentations.  Ability to make effective and appropriate presentations.  

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Master’s degree or higher in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering.    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations: Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
