Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Legal Analyst (Paralegal), located in Houston, Texas, through July 4, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).Overview: Corporation Law is seeking an experienced legal analyst/paralegal to support Chevron’s intellectual property attorneys in Houston, TX on a wide range of commercial agreements for Chevron’s technology and Upstream businesses.  Requsition ID # 178501Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: The individual must perform delegated tasks under the guidance and direction of attorneys, including:

Reviewing, drafting, revising and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to services agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, research agreements, technology license agreements, joint development agreements, field test agreements, and alliance agreements. Supporting a variety of commercial transactions and projects. Working closely with business partners, internal organizations, and Law Function personnel to resolve a variety of general legal matters. Working closely with Chevron’s subject matter experts in tax, credit, compliance, and insurance to integrate contractual terms. Locating, reviewing, and summarizing documents for attorney review. Performing legal due diligence and factual research. Conducting legal research and preparing legal research memoranda. Multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments to consistently provide high quality work product within stated deadlines. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of five years’ experience as a commercial/contracting legal analyst or paralegal. Experience supporting attorneys on complex transactional matters. Demonstrated expertise in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts. Strong analytical ability and research skills. Strong and careful communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to communicate effectively across broad functional and organizational lines. Commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work product while balancing varied deadlines and competing priorities. Self-starter who is adept at working in a team environment and partnering with colleagues, management, clients, in-house counsel, outside counsel and staff. Well organized, proactive and works independently with minimal supervision. Detailed and meticulous, with a client service approach. Demonstrates good judgment and initiative. Knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of tools and legal research applications Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of five years’ experience in handling technology development/intellectual property based agreements. Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a licensed attorney with an active or inactive bar membership.
