Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Maintenance Technician – Electrical located in Aberdeen / UK through 28th July  2017 at 11:59 p.m.Overview Chevron Upstream Europe currently has an offshore opportunity for a Maintenance Technician – Electrical to act in the capacity of Senior Authorised Person Electrical/ Responsible Person Electrical on one of our UK Assets. This position will be working as part of a multi-discipline team. The successful candidate should be a highly articulate and effective communicator with excellent team building & interpersonal skills. Prepared to assist with a variety of tasks to a level consistent with knowledge and training.Key Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the continued safe & efficient operation of all electrical equipment and associated systems including high frequency PMR work, documentation reporting and Log Keeping duties and in accordance with CUE operating procedures and guidelines. Maintenance, repair, inspection and fault finding on Power Generation and Distribution equipment ranging through High Voltage, Low Voltage, Extra Low Voltage Equipment throughout the Installation Topsides. Carry out the duties of “Nominated Area Operator” and / or  “AAP” as per  P.T.W. requirements and Chevron Electrical Rules. Monitors and maintain good Housekeeping conditions within Area of Responsibility as detailed in the Company Safety Practices and Procedures Manual. Participates in activity planning and execution e.g. shutdown co-ordination / preparation. Ensure any modifications, however minor, are dealt with using the Management of Change (MOC) process. Diagnostic and Remedial Work/Operations in the event of equipment failure / power outages in systems using relevant Engineering Drawings, Vendor Manuals and other Data to assist with corrective action. Regularly makes use of Production, Operating and Start-up Manuals (POSM) for relevant systems. Reviews content, ensures accuracy, highlights discrepancies and ensures Management of Change (MOC) procedures are followed where changes are required. Maintains accurate and comprehensive records including, but not limited to: event logs, maintenance records, override logs. Complies with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental requirements Carry out Emergency duties as required e.g. Fire team or Lifeboat Coxswain etc. Actively participates in Constituency Safety Meetings, Group Meetings, Risk Assessments, Tool Box Talks etc.  The range of systems is extensive and includes but is not limited to the following:

High Voltage Power distribution systems including Main Power Generation, Power Management System, Switchgear Motors, Cables and associated equipment.

Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems including Emergency Power Generation, Switchgear, Motor Control Centres, Transformers, Motors, Cables, Battery Systems, Chargers and Associated Equipment.

Critical Power Distribution UPS Systems, Navigational Aids, Battery Systems and Chargers and Associated Equipment.

Lighting and Small Power 110/240V Low Voltage Distribution, including Temporary Supplies, Control Circuits, Portable Equipment / Tools and Lighting. Galley and Accommodation.     

Extra Low Voltage 24V D.C. Extra Low Voltage Distribution Systems and Power Supplies, including Battery Chargers and Battery Systems, Control Circuits, and interface with Instrument Control Systems.

EEx Equipment Electrical equipment for use in hazardous areas is classified, the EEx equipment is designed, built, manufactured and tested to national and international standards and must be maintained to codes of practice. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of “Ex” explosion protected equipment throughout the platform

Required (Basic) Qualifications

Industry recognised Apprenticeship and relevant qualification (minimum City and Guilds or equivalent) and background in individual power generation/distribution.  Extensive electrical operations and maintenance competency demonstrated preferably gained in an offshore environment, refinery or Chemical plant. Experience of High Voltage and Low Voltage systems. Must be able  to compile Technical Reports with associated Drawings as required, pertaining to Electrical systems or operations. Candidates should have previous Permit to Work experience as Authorised Isolator or equivalent Demonstrate good teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a close, multi-discipline environment and can carry out Leadership roles when required and as part of career development.
