Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Facility Inspector - Sweeny Operational Area located in Baytown, Texas through July 7, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).Overview of Position: Facility Inspectors are proficient in field inspection work processes and act as representatives of Chevron when interfacing with third parties to provide the necessary encroachment protection for Chevron Right of Ways and the safe and efficient operation of assigned pipeline systems. They coordinate their own work and work with other team members and contractors in performing daily field inspection work. Identify and resolve or suggest resolutions for right of way encroachments, correct work place hazards, unsafe practices, security violations or environmental concerns. Facility Inspectors may act as a field team liaison with Subject Matter Experts and perform link pin or link pin type responsibilities in regards to line locating, excavations and encroachments. Respond to one-call notifications and line location requests.  Attend contractor and municipality pre-construction meetings to represent Chevron right of way interests. Ensure that requirements for excavating in Chevron Right-of-Ways are made known, put on record and carried out by those performing the excavating work.  Meet with contractors at the job site to review construction drawings and check for possible encroachments, lack of proper clearances, or even possible unsafe excavating practices. Schedule necessary pot holing, discuss and approve the method of excavating, as well as the required clearances. May recommend design changes or changes to excavation practices to resolve conflicts within Chevron right-of ways or facilities. Responsible for locating abandoned, idle and active facilities, and mark the location within prescribed tolerance from either side of the pipe. Independently communicate and coordinate with 3rd party contractors to schedule work in a manner that will not result in job delays but will still meet Chevron requirements to witness each excavation of our pipeline as it occurs. May act as contact and quality assurance compliance inspectors for CPL projects assuming on-site responsibility for the completion of the project as designed and stipulated in the contract documents. Perform a variety of functions in support of third party excavations near assigned facilities including; line-marking, line riding, witnessing line crossings to ensure our facilities are protected, performing basic pipeline coating repair in consultation with CP Specialists, and completing all CPL and DOT required documentation. Regular or annual review of encroachment data collected from aerial patrols, maps and all buffer zones and assuring the data is current and accurate in all databases and tools. Responsible for performing field data collection (FDC) on work that exposes the pipeline. They may participate in public awareness and damage prevention seminars as required. Performs line marker maintenance and legibility on permanent markers. When unknown equipment or other construction activities are in the vicinity of CPL ROW, then take make contact or notify contractor in order to understand and qualify the scope of work to assure it will not interfere with ROW. Proficient in use of CPL systems of record for identifying alignment sheets and other data needed to perform duties and providing updates. Respond to inquiries regarding leaks, line locations and encroachments and take appropriate action to rectify. Additional Duties as Assigned by Management:

Plan and assist in tracking inline inspections (ILI) Tools (MIP 305). Assist in the training and coaching of other team members in Facility Inspection skills associated with assigned pipeline system(s). Perform compliance inspections and participate in agency inspections. May coordinate the inspection, and documentation of facilities compliance checks, and track compliance checklists. Perform other activities as directed by the Team Leader or local management. Required Qualifications:

Hazwoper Level III & V certification required.  If not currently certified, must become certified within 1 year of hire, and certifications must be maintained. Valid Driver's License Required- No DWI/DUI 3 years.  No more than 1 moving violation in past 2 years.  DMV records will be checked. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must have a minimum of 2 years’ pipeline or industry related experience. Prior to performing any DOT covered tasks, must meet DOT requirements for operator qualification.
