POSITION: Controls & Instrumentation Group Lead

Reporting to the Manager - Electronics & Controls, the C&I Group Lead primary function is to provide leadership and direction to the C&I team assuring that new equipment adheres to the design specifications and meets or exceed the expectations of the stakeholders. This position will be responsible for overseeing and contributing to electronic controller and HMI design and sustain, configuration, field sensor selection, electrical & electronics design, installation/interconnection drawings, production/field support and commissioning assistance. The C&I Group Leader will comply with applicable codes and standards and apply best practices. Interaction and Co-ordination with existing technical staff, maintenance and operations groups is required.

Responsibilities: 

Provide leadership to the assigned technical team for the purpose of developing clear instruction and documentation of the support process. Sustain and improve the performance of existing equipment controls and instruments. Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues Test hardware and software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization. Standardization of control systems and network platform Design of electrical circuits and panels. Knowledge of technology available for implementation Controls interface with Hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems, engines and transmissions Recommend improvements to existing hardware designs as necessary. Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals. Analyze equipment operational issues, investigate and propose solutions. Identify, investigate and provide feedback on potential design/engineering improvements or reconfiguration. Assist production personnel (in-house or 3rd party) in interpreting drawings and solve manufacturing problems. Revise drawings based on input from production Support the Corporate Operations Support group in maintaining consistency across the business units on the BJ Services maintenance program and equipment. Complete appropriate documentation compiling records, reports, issue logs, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical drawings throughout the life of the equipment. Act as liaison between departments to ensure jobs and job results are communicated and issues are investigated and addressed. Preparation of training material for users. Enforce Health and Safety standards at all time. Address all issues and work with Key Stakeholders on hardware failure issues. Maintain Monthly Reports for Senior Management with progress within the department. Training key personnel. Support Operations. Other Duties assigned  Experience:

Extensive experience in controls & Instrumentation discipline, including supervisory experience. Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering degree. A minimum of ten years of experience with three of those years in previous leadership roles. Experience in embedded control system. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a high paced working environment. Previous high pressure pumping field experience. Proven experience with electronics, hydraulic, mechanical and pneumatic systems. Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business. Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary Proficient in the operation, setup and calibration of multiple types of stimulation equipment. Strong attention to detail. Proven skills in process and operations analysis. Demonstrated self-motivation, ability to work alone and ethical behavior including professionalism and respect.
