Lead Electrical Engineer

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead, supervise and guide discipline-specific teams in the preparation and co-ordination of design and/or detail drawings ensuring deadlines are met and that work is completed to the required quality standards. Program, plan and co-ordinate all project activities including the provision of design and technical information, ensuring accuracy, completeness and delivery within schedule and allocated manpower budget. Contribute to project by applying advanced knowledge and skills to develop design concept ensuring that all aspects are technically sound and compatible with department and contract requirements Ensure incorporation of design requirements for health, safety, quality and constructability into design deliverables Assist the section head in develop of department capabilities Communicate with design coordinator/project engineer/manager and other lead design engineers to ensure: Design proceeds according to plan, quality and budget Review and resolve interdisciplinary design and technical issues to ensure the most effective and efficient design is adopted. Provides design and technical assistance in instances where modifications or variations are necessary.

Monitor progress and prepare regular reports for management, addressing any significant variances in manpower budget expenditure together with recommendations for corrective action, if necessary.

QUALIFICATION

Must have prior experience in 2-3 projects in identifying and quantifying total number of engineering deliverables, man-hour allocation, and format of delivery, time schedules and other requirements for execution of the project. Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved. Must have prior experience of 2-3 projects in supervising, reviewing and checking of engineering documents like equipment specifications, data sheets, engineering calculations, drawings and schedules. Must be capable to provide inputs for the preparation of plot plans and civil drawings; organize the issuance of engineering drawings and technical documents for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC's) coordinate with other engineering discipline in the integration of data inputs. Must have handled the procurement assistance activities like preparation of purchase requisitions, technical bid evaluation of vendor offers and vendor print review independently for 2-3 projects. Must be able to interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives, conduct internal staff meetings, ensure the progress of project in accordance to schedule, allotted man hours and budgeted costs. Preferably should have experience of attending SAFOP and 3D model review meeting with the client and representatives of the other engineering disciplines. Must be able to provide clarification and guidance and technical support to construction sites and commissioning engineers, provide startup assistance as required. Proven managerial and coordination abilities for minimum of 3 years. High contractual and cost awareness. Must have good understanding of environmental, health and safety requirements
