Mid-Level Civil Engineer

Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure has an opportunity for a Mid-Level Civil Engineer to join our team in Rocky Hill, CT. This position will include exposure to a broad array of civil engineering projects including civil site design, transportation, geotechnical, environmental facilities and site permitting.

Key Responsibilities

Will perform a broad range of planning and design tasks for civil site design, transportation, geotechnical, environmental, facilities and general infrastructure projects, as well as civil design tasks associated with support of other multi-discipline projects Duties will include the development of plans, construction drawings, specifications, design computations, reports and construction documents The position will be technically involved in detailed design work, coordination of civil and non-civil designs on multi-discipline projects, coordination with utilities and municipalities as well as resolution of design issues that may include performing field investigations Manage large quantities of data in Microsoft Excel Correspond with utilities and municipalities Perform site investigation and surveys as needed Development of designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D Preparation of construction drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D Travel to project sites - Approximately 10% overnight travel Skills / Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering; MS degree is a plus Must have completed Fundamentals of Engineering exam Registered PE in CT or the ability to obtain within 6 months 5 + years of civil engineering experience Proficient in AutoCAD and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D desirable Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to establish effective working relationships with contractors Ability to communicate clearly with on-site contractors, supervisor or Project Manager Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed - Approximately 10% overnight travel Must pass drug test, background check, fit for duty physical and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Diversity Statement
