Position Title: Project Delivery Engineer - Civil

Location: Calgary, AB

Job Description:

The Project Delivery Engineer is to provide project management supervision throughout define and execute for Civil infrastructure projects in Onshore Projects. The Project Delivery Engineer is single point accountable for safe and Top Quartile (TQ) delivery of projects in the following areas: design, procurement (if applicable), construction, maintenance, and final handover acceptance. The Project Delivery Engineer is to provide leadership in delivering HSE performance in accordance with corporate guidelines and Goal Zero.

Responsibilities include:

Manage and continuously improve the IFR/IFC Civil engineering process. This responsibility is not limited to the management of third party contractors, engineering firms, staff and contractors to ensure low cost, high quality, and timely delivery of efficient Civil designs to be implemented across the Client's asset base. Manage the Civil Project Quality Control Quality Assurance program and any associated third party contractors and staff. Collaborate with the Client's Drilling, Completions and Facilities groups to ensure lease working areas are right sized, resulting in efficient use of space and minimal environmental impact. Maintain regulatory compliance at all times. Ensure awareness of formal commitments to key stakeholders. Efficiently manage direct reports and third party contractors and promote a culture of accountability. Analyze legal surveys, maps, drawings, aerial photography and other topographical or geographic data to formulate fit for purpose civil designs. Ensure Civil engineering designs to meet any government (municipal, provincial, federal) requirements or standards in support of area development specific needs. The Project Delivery Engineer is accountable for the delivery of Civil infrastructure projects within a larger portfolio of projects associated with Onshore Projects. The Project Delivery Engineer is expected to play an active role in identifying and executing business improvement initiatives which drive excellence in delivery of facilities and infrastructure projects across the Upstream Americas Onshore Projects portfolio.Specific accountabilities include:

Accountable for project HSE, cost, schedule, and quality performance. Accountable for interfacing with and managing design-engineering firm to deliver detailed design packages for construction. Accountable for on-time engineering deliverables and prompt responses to construction requests for information. Accountable for ensuring Quality Assurance and Quality Control of all Civil infrastructure projects (lease and roads). Accountable for work face planning techniques for multiple projects that support overall delivery of cost effective and on time projects. Accountable for interfacing with construction personnel and contractors to ensure performance is being tracked and continuously improved. Provide active field construction support during the execution phase and support project engineers when required. Accountable for HSE leadership to ensure hazards are being identified and that adequate mitigations are in being applied. Accountable for project HSE plans and for participation in incident investigations. Accountable for application of the Client's Project Delivery Roadmap for projects and delivery of all necessary deliverables in advance of the investment decision, including project scope definition, cost estimate, project execution plan, and schedule. Accountable for applying improvement initiatives/learnings across projects as part of the continuous improvement to drive top quartile and goal zero safety performance. Accountable for ensuring that project forecasting at various stages is accurate and aligned with the approved Capex funding. Accountable to develop project related reports and Key Performance Indicators to understand and communicate trends in performance. Accountable for weekly status reporting and for monthly project updates on all projects (HSE, cost, schedule, quality, issues, etc.). Interface to ensure work is captured as part of integrated activity planning for the business. Special Challenges:

Safe delivery of Top Quartile facilities within the schedule requirements as specified in the Field Development Plan. Management of multiple interfaces within a rapidly expanding business. To successfully deal with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholder issues. Highly effective problem solving skills and ability to create responsible solutions a must. Highly capable of supplying complex deliverables to a wide range of clients in a time sensitive environment. Detailed awareness of overall process both external and internal to facilitate approvals to allow field work to occur on time. Effectively manage multiple areas, clients and competing priorities consistently. Drive fit for purpose solutions in both exploration and development while keeping costs low and managing change and avoid expensive flexibility. Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum B.S. Degree: Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. Civil preferred Minimum 6 - 10 years experience in oil & gas industry related projects The successful candidate must have a strong passion and commitment to Health, Safety and Environment. Ability to demonstrate HSE leadership for field activities and design efforts. Knowledgeable in regard to the application of ALARP and Hazard & Effects management (HEMP). Proven experience in successful delivery of mid to large sized integrated Civil infrastructure projects, including project management of project phases from Front End Engineering Design through start-up and handover. Self motivated and able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders across organizations (business, operations, etc) and projects staff. Required to collate inputs from multiple sources and develop clear, robust premises and strategies for execution. Good communication skills and ability to drive change by championing improvement initiatives. Proven experience in developing and working with commercial arrangements and skilled at managing contractor performance. Able to lead project controls staff to develop robust cost/schedule estimates and track delivery against agreed targets. Effective at identification and management of project risks. Experienced in integration of operational requirements and philosophies into project execution through design, testing and commissioning.
