Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

 

· Completes thorough pre-trip & post-trip inspections using assigned electronic tablet device

· Records time worked using assigned electronic tablet device

· Ensures all fittings & equipment are available for assigned jobs prior to departure

· Uses all personal protective equipment properly

· Loads and unloads cargo efficiently and effectively

· Follows traffic laws and client on-site regulations

· Effectively operates vehicle in adverse road and weather conditions

· Reports all accidents, near misses and safety violations

· Communicates with dispatch via phone & messaging regarding location, loads and time worked

· Attends mandatory monthly safety meetings

· Keeps truck cabs neat and tidy

· Fuels truck when nearing empty and frequently checks and replenishes fluid levels

· Completes company & client paperwork accurately & timely

· Communicates with client representatives in a respectful, professional manner

· Other duties as assigned


Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


· Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required

· Current valid medical certification

· 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver required

· Company sponsored Safeland training certification required

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

· Ability to effectively use an electronic tablet device to scan bar codes, type notes and navigate through applications

· Ability to read a map or receive directions over the phone or electronic tablet device

· Ability to work under extreme stress and small spaces

· Ability to multi-task and easily problem solve during high stress situations

· Knowledge of company's general systems, policies and business practices


 


 


Physical Requirements


· Most work is performed in extreme temperature environments. Incumbent may be exposed to loud noises, extreme cold or heat, rain, snow, sleet, hail, wind, dust, mud and uneven ground surfaces.

· Incumbent may sit for long periods of time in a truck

· Incumbent may encounter rough, uneven roads that jostles driver up and down, side to side

· Incumbent will lift weights up to 50 pounds and must lift, push, pull and hold heavy objects

· Incumbent will climb stairs, bend, stretch and twist side to side daily

· Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to hear deadly gas monitor warnings
