Lead Mechanical Engineer (ROV Systems)

Our client is currently recruiting for a Lead Mechanical Engineer (ROV Systems) on a permanent basis in Aberdeen.Due to the nature of the role candidates will preferably be based in or around the Aberdeen area.Candidates must have the following:1. Previous offshore experience with ROV systems/operations2. Good communication skills, ability to communicate with several departments to coordinate ROV support3. Experience with Mechanical/Hydraulic systems used on ROV systems4. University degree in Mechanical engineering5. Ability to lead a teamResponsibilities:1. Develop upgrades and modifications required on the ROV system, including revising drawings and documentation2. Assist with trouble shooting ROV breakdowns, creating work instructions to assist with fault finding3. Develop detailed technical specification for ROV components4. Write and review technical operation and maintenance manuals for all components of ROV systems5. Create technical bulletins advising technical improvements/recommendations6. Investigate component failures to establish the root cause and provide recommendations to improve reliability7. Assist with technically evaluating ROV components, ensuring there technically suitable for our application8. Ensuring ROV systems drawings manuals and data books are accurate9. Develop and maintain ROV engineering support procedures10. Take the lead for all mechanical/Hydraulic ROV engineering support11. Responsible for the coordination and production of FEA/FMEA reports for all ROV system components12. Provide engineering assistance related to ROV tooling13. Liaise with other engineering departments/regions with respect to ROV engineering related projects14. Supplier surveillance (both 3rd party and in house) performing quality checks and witnessing tests15. Provide engineering support for ROV workshop during ROV system refurbishments16. Focal point for all ROV and ROV handling system engineering
