Our client is looking for a Subsea Plug and Abandonment Engineer to work in Aberdeen on a 12 month contract basis. Due to the nature of the role, suitable candidates will reside in or near Aberdeen, UK.The Onshore Subsea Plug and Abandonment (P&A) Engineers role is to design, plan and provide engineering support during the select, define and execution stage as well as post well review of plug and abandonment operations in support of the Asset Decommissioning Project and other decommissioning projects as necessary.Key Duties:Ensure all activities adhere to the client Well Management System (WMS).Ensure that the clients policies and procedures are adhered to in all phases of well operations.Provide QA/QC support to all operational activities within the Decom and Wells teams.Identify new technology, vessels and methods to develop lower well plug and abandonment costs.Support to relevant stage gate of the Decommissioning Project.Planning of operations with due regard to safety of personnel, the environment and equipment.Review of existing well data across the asset well stock and analysis of same to create current status of each - maintain live database of current well conditions.Provide conceptual design and initial well plug & abandonment planning as driven by the Wellwork Schedule deadlines encompassing preparation of P&A steps to include plug placement, cement reviews, downhole tooling configuration, engineering risk review - whether rig-based or rigless.Planning of all Well Plug and Abandonment Activities to the standards stipulated within the Well Management System (WMS) as well as awareness and understanding with Oil & Gas UK Guidelines.Preparation of well cost durations and estimates for all options. Preparation of all plug and abandonment engineering documentation required within the Appraise/Select/Define/Execute phases of the Project Delivery System for Wells (PDSW).Assistance and appraisal of new technology, vessel options and equipment for more cost effective operation.Ensure that the well P&A design is fit for purpose, cost effective and consistent with industry best practice.Organising and leading Peer Reviews for well P&A designs.Support to the Execute stage of the asset Decommissioning Project.To provide engineering support during the execution stage of all phases of P&A activities, with due regard to safety and cost effectiveness on behalf of the client.Strive for best-in-class performance and seek ways to eliminate waste from wellsite operations.Utilise a full cycle learning process to implement lessons back into the operations in timely manner to capture opportunities and work for continuous improvement.Education Attainment & Accreditation:Engineering degree coupled with relevant onshore drilling, completion or intervention engineering experience and offshore exposure. Plug and Abandonment methods, guidelines, practices and operations an advantage.A subsea well-based project role but platform well experience welcomed. Awareness of LWIV operations and advantage.Computer literate, knowledgeable about engineering application programmes, e.g. Wellplan, Stresscheck, and WellCat. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
