Overview / Responsibilities

Amec Foster Wheeler is currently seeking an Accounting Team Lead to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. The Accounting Team Lead supports the Accounting Manager in the coordination of the company’s general accounting activities to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information. This individual will work closely with various departments throughout Amec Foster Wheeler.  Will lead and/or contribute to various special projects in the Company’s Corporate Accounting and Reporting Groups.  These responsibilities will be of varied complexities and durations.

 

The ideal candidate is an experienced self-starter with appropriate industry experience team player who is able to implement controls and procedures in a fast paced environment. Must be able to communicate effectively and be comfortable explaining accounting concepts to people with non-financial backgrounds.

 

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate monthly Hyperion Financial Management financial close, consolidation, and reporting activities Lead intercompany accounting staff responsible for billing, collection, and reconciliation activities Preparation of monthly management and financial reports Assist with the production of mid-year and year-end statutory reporting filing requirements to be provided to various shared service partners, including the UK Parent, in support of the filing of consolidated financial statements, annual reports, and various other public entity disclosures Support of the monthly close, with primary responsibility for cash application and reporting, including cash forecasting; This position is also the primary liaison with Treasury for all banking related tasks Provide audit support for internal and external audit requests Prepare/review supplemental and other supporting documentation to meet reporting deadlines Analyze and trend variances in the financial results; including heavy involvement in reviewing and resolving financial issues on a daily basis Develop and mentor supervised staff Work with all necessary parties in the preparation of management reporting and presentations Assist with ensuring that financial statements and reports accurately reflect the financial position of the division Perform various special projects and analysis as requested by management Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting / Finance Minimum of 8-12 years of Finance/Accounting experience in a dynamic/changing organization Strong knowledge of accounting principles (thorough understanding of G/L account reconciliation and other accounting processes). Strong initiative and follow-up High level of computer literacy is required with particular emphasis on Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) Competency in US GAAP and IFRS highly desired Experience in BST and Hyperion Financial Management is highly desired CPA candidate is preferred but not required Diversity Statement
