Government Relations Officer

Overview / Responsibilities

One of our Joint Venture companies are expecting award shortly for a large scale project in Iraq. Should we be awarded this work, we will have a requirement for a Government Relations Officer to strengthen our team.

A significant Oilfield, located in Southern Iraq, is on the verge of a full field development programme managed by an International Oil company.  The five year plan covers installation of new infrastructure, electrical distribution, water injection, crude oil well pads, gathering pipework systems, separation and degassing prior to export via main trunk lines. 

The Joint Venture Company is an EPCm and PMT contracting company, established for the last four years in Dubai to act as a vehicle for equal share parent companies to provide services to the Southern Iraq Oilfield market.

Process and carry out all transactions relating to visas, permits, licenses and registration, pertaining to employees and liaising with various Government Departments and Agencies Process all types of visas to include employment visas Ensure any changes or amendments to the prevailing laws / rules / regulations, changes in forms / formats and other procedures are up to date and advise Human Resources Department of such changes Submit relevant documents periodically to the immigration / labor office with regards to cancellations Complete departure and exit formalities for employees after cancellation of visas  

Skills / Qualifications

We require an Iraqi national for this position who is already based in the Basra region The successful candidate will have a proven track record in a similar position Must have previous experience of managing all transactions relating to visas, permits, licenses and registration, pertaining to employees and liaising with various Government Departments and Agencies Diversity Statement
