Location: Ft. Stockton, TX

Reports to: Safety Manager

Summary of Position:

The HSE Professional will have a direct line of reporting to the Parsley Safety Manager with a dotted line of reporting to the Parsley Drilling and Completions Managers. The HSE Professional will work cooperatively with the D/C Superintendents to dispatch HSE Consultants based upon risk and audit schedules. The HSE Professional will provide coaching and mentoring support to the HSE Specialists. The HSE Professional will substitute for the Safety Manager during times of vacation or personal leave.

Essential functions:

Contractor HSE Bid Analysis: Collaborate with General Procurement to analyze and provide an HSE ranking of contractors during the bid analysis process. Familiar with and understand Parsley Energy Safety Policies and comply with all requirements including employee handbooks, operations and technical procedures. Conduct HSE inspections, audits & observations at production and drilling facilities. Conduct PPE Hazard Assessments for production and drilling facilities. Conduct Noise Monitoring for production and drilling facilities. Provide assistance, recommendations, and advice on HSE issues. Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary. Assist in compliance reviews, risk assessments and other safety assessments. Assist/prepare/present OSHA required safety training. Conduct visitor, new hire, and contractor orientations. Enforce all company safety policies & procedures and re-direct unsafe behaviors in a respectful manner. Assist and educate employees and contractors in recognizing unsafe behaviors and conditions. Coordinate and/or participate in the reporting and review of accidents, injuries and incidents. Familiarize managers and supervisors with all governmental regulations which impact their areas of responsibility and assist in the interpretation, application and implementation of the regulations. Assist and/or advise field personnel with the development and/or review of JSA's, Confined Space Entry Permits, Hot Work Permits and other Permitting.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

Ability to respond to emergency situations Familiar with and understand the OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards, 1926 Construction Standards, and other standards and/or recommended practices that apply to the oil and gas industry. Able to function well independently and as a team member lead Ability to complete projects through delegation of authority and documentation by action lists Have a keen eye for identifying and recognizing unsafe behaviors and conditions Good organizational, project management and teamwork skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks by maintaining action lists Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional certifications (CSHO, ASP, CSP, etc.) Communicate effectively with department managers and executives as to all matters concerning safety Ability to lead and mentor others concerning Parsley Energy corporate values and culture Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.) Experience and ability to conduct safety training  

Supervisory responsibilities:

Direct supervisory responsibilities over team of contract HSE consultants supporting drilling and completions operations.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will also work in outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold weather, extreme heat, and vibration.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal. While at the worksite the individual will be expected to walk and stand. On occasion this individual might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and/or crawl.

 

Position type and expected hours of work:

This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours.

 

Travel:

This position requires frequent day trips to locations outside of the Midland/Odessa area and may require occasional overnight stays 15% per year.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Occupational, Health & Safety 5 years Oil & Gas industry related safety and health experience. A combination of education and experience may substitute for degree
