SummaryAnadarko is searching for one ITS Developer specializing in Data Engineering, to be part of Anadarko's DJs Analytics & Data Science (ADS) Team located in Denver, CO.  The ADS serves as a partner within the Integrated Asset Team (IAT) responsible for identifying, developing and implementing appropriate analytical solutions, which provide differentiating capabilities across the IAT.  As part of the ADS team, the ITS developer specializing in Data Engineering will bring their expertise in collecting, storing, processing and analyzing huge sets of data. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then maintaining, implementing and monitoring them. The successful candidate will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the company. Anadarko's data is messy, and we're looking for wizards who can recommend and apply the appropriate tools and frameworks to make it work for our efforts.  The ADS is a multi-disciplinary team with many domain experts in Engineering, Geosciences, Data Science & Advanced Analytics.  We're interested in individuals who enjoy a collaborative environment working on many high profile and challenging projects, and who are interested in learning a great deal from each other as we work various projects.  We're looking for innovative, energetic, eager, and humble individuals who demonstrate Anadarko's Core Values in the application of Data Engineering on each project. Qualifications8+ years of experience is required High level of enthusiasm and a love of dataProficient understanding of distributed computing principlesSolid scripting and programming skills, with languages such as Python, C#, C++, Java, Ruby, Scala, and ErlangExperience developing integration solutions using multiple approaches and tools, including ETL (Informatica PowerCenter, Pentaho), ESB (MuleSoft, SAP PI), messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and data virtualization (Denodo, JBoss Teiid). Experience developing data solutions using multiple database technologies, including relational (Oracle and SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, HBase).  This includes development experience in PL/SQL or T-SQL for relational databases.Experience developing reporting and visualization solutions in multiple tools (Crystal Reports, SSRS, Spotfire, PowerBI).Experience leading technical teams and/or multiple projects using agile methodologies.Demonstrated success defining and implementing data management solutions involving IoT, Big Data, and Cloud.Demonstrated results working with business domain experts to research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.Ability to integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.Ability to initiate and effectively manage communication and collaboration with a broad array of business personnel. Ideally, the candidate will have a good understanding/experience with:Solution development using Access and Excel, including experience with VBA.Data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information retrieval.Knowledge of statistical and data science software packages and toolkits such as R, Python, Weka, NumPy, SPSS, SAS, MATLAB, and StataTools and techniques for improving data reliability, efficiency, and quality.Documenting requirements in functional/technical specifications.Data warehousing and data modeling techniques and tools.APIs for developer and data scientist consumption and integration with other tools (both web and rich-client based).Testing, build, and version control concepts and best practices.Solutions on both Windows and Linux, including multi-tier server environments.Large-scale systems support, including familiarity with monitoring, logging, and ticketing tools.BPM, orchestration, scheduling, and workflow automation technologies.  ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will work closely with other professionals within various departments to develop data, integration, and analytics solutions to support the business.  Additional specific responsibilities include:Responsible for the Collection, Storage, Processing, Transformation, Cleaning, and Analysis of data as requiredRecommending, selecting, and integrating any Big Data or Small Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilitiesImplementing ETL processMonitoring performance and advising any necessary infrastructure changesRemain current with emerging technologies and industry best practices; guide/mentor other developers on major strategies and methodologies.  Education High School diploma or GED required.  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field strongly preferred.RelocationThis position may be eligible for domestic relocation. Travel RequirementsThe percentage of travel required for this position is 0 - 10% Work ScheduleThis position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule. *LI-CS1See Job Description
