I.T Perimeter Protection Engineer Job

Overview:

Marathon Oil is seeking a Perimeter Protection Engineer to work on the Perimeter Security Operations team. This team is responsible for the day to day management of all perimeter protection and network security functions. The successful candidate will have oversight of perimeter protection and network security daily operations and should have expert knowledge with SIEM technologies, Splunk as well as demonstrated experience with the following:

Threat modeling, optimize network security identifying vulnerabilities and defining countermeasures. Must have a good understanding of security vulnerabilities, rule-based access control, ports and protocols Monitoring of key security events. Experience with operating system browsers, proxies, gateways and various networking devices Experience with firewall monitoring, management and administration Understanding of Internet sites and services as well as DNS Experience with email blocking technologies; virus and Malware protection; security related to mobile devices; syslog and security log analysis; risk assessments Experience designing and implementing network security measures to include firewalls; troubleshooting network problems Experience determining inefficiencies in the event management architecture, and recommending changes to improve management of system operation to ensure system availability to all system users Work with other Marathon IT teams to assist in troubleshooting and resolving incident tickets Maintain documentation related to perimeter security activities/process Ability to provide 24x7 support including on˜all rotation Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in IT related field, or extensive experience in IT Security CISM or CISSP-ISSMP Minimum of (5) year performing duties similar to those listed in the overview section above Experience working in an oil and gas setting Effectively work in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills to direct resources across multiple disciplines. Problem analysis and resolution Committed to maintaining accurate and complete written documentation Experience working with both internal and external resources
