Sales Manager (Marine Fuels) UK, Benelux & Nordics Regions - £Competitive + Benefits - Home Based - PermanentJob DescriptionThis role of Marine Sales Manager represents an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to join a leading fuel additives manufacturer within a role, and a business, which have significant growth potential. The successful candidate will have the chance to grow a business from an existing base, and establish a long-term career within this ambitious global organization.Responsible for delivering the Marine Sales targets for the UK and Benelux territories through direct and indirect sales. Work with the EMEA Marine sales team to grow the business in the Nordic countries through direct sales and/or the appointment of Agents or/and Distributors.ResponsibilitiesDeliver the Marine Sales targets and profitable sales in line with the marine business growth strategy for EMEA Marine business.Attend sales visits in order to identify needs and present solutions which are in line with the marine business strategy.Manage the existing customer portfolio of volume and GP within the sales territory directly or indirectly with the support of an Agent.Gains comprehensive understanding of and develop trusted relationships with existing customers and new accounts to secure sustainable business streams.Work closely with Technical services to perform ship visits and to monitor field trials, including the need to physically dose products, optimise treatment levels and collect the necessary data.Work closely with EMEA Marine sales team, to develop effective channels within the Sales territory to have clear direct channels and indirect channels.Experience RequiredSufficiently experienced within the industry to be credible in front of senior technical contacts with the shipping companies and to fit with EMEA Marine sales team.Hold a university degree or equivalent, preferably in a technical discipline such as Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or similar.Should have ideally sailed 3-5 years on Ocean going vessels as a Marine Engineer.Must have a good understanding of marine propulsion systems and the emission regulations governing the shipping industry. Ideally have an in-depth knowledge of marine fuels characteristics and the environment in which marine fuel additives are used (fuel treatment systems, bunker capacities...).Must have a strong network of contacts within the main ship owning or ship managing companies (technical and purchasing) in the UK and ideally in Benelux and/or Nordic countries.Should ideally have a significant (3 years +) and successful Sales experience in the Marine market, selling technical products such as fuel additives, marine lubricants, coatings, chemicals or capital equipment (engines, fuel systems…) into the major shipping fleet operators.Must have the ability and the willingness to frequently travel across the Sales territory and Europe (typically 2-3 days per week).Must be business fluent in English (both written and verbal). In addition, a very good command in Dutch (or German or any Nordics language) is clearly a plus.Hold a driving licence valid in the UK and the EU.STR Limited is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
