The BP Alaska Region is seeking an experienced Engineer capable of high level performance in the important role of Process Engineer within the Discipline Engineering Team (DET). The core role of the process engineer in DET is to provide onshore engineering support and progress mid to long-term Engineering work-scopes required to deliver the Region's Long Term Plan and maintain safe & efficient operations across the BP Alaska Operations business. This accountability includes providing technical expertise for various production and gas processing facilities located in Prudhoe Bay as well as 3rd party engineering work scopes. The DET supports the Area Engineering Support Team (AEST) in delivering mid-term engineering solutions to operational problems, and is also accountable for providing cross asset, strategic engineering solutions from within the Engineering Services Organization.

Key Accountabilities: The role may include the following accountabilities dependent on work planning and direction from line management: Provide engineering support to the North Slope production facilities to resolve operations and technical integrity issues; perform troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis, plant optimization, and drive Engineering Queries (EQs) and Change Management (i.e. Management of Change: MOCs) to completion. Identify continuous risk reduction activities within the domain of process engineering. Work on projects of higher complexity and support engineering management to respond to emerging work requiring urgent response. Engineer and progress planned work-scopes, modifications, and projects required to deliver the Region Annual Operating Plan through management of "in house" engineering work and "3rd party" EPC companies Timely report the "value of work done" of various projects in an effort to manage the team budget. Represent process & process safety engineering in multi-disciplined RCFAs, Continuous Improvement (CI) Initiatives and Incident Investigations (5Why's, etc.) Manage vendors and contractors which are utilized to support ongoing projects. Provide engineering, technical and logistical support to operations to maintain its safety, production and performance targets (e.g. SORAs, ORAs, SCE inspection deferrals). Maintain close relationship with operations team and network relationships with the supporting functions to raise awareness of ongoing operational issues Accountable to identify & mitigate safety risks and production vulnerabilities Lead or participate in Risk assessments, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, Project HSSE Reviews, etc. as a Process Engineering Representative Support Major Accident Risk and Quantitative Risk Assessments and the tracking and closure of action items. Maintain working knowledge of BP and Industry codes, standards, and regulations relevant to process systems and process safety Actively participate in BP technical networks maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings and have close links with specialists and engineers of all disciplines, both within the Region and across other parts of BP Coach and mentor other engineers and lead the development of the process engineering organizational capability within the function (through on the job training and formal courses). Make visits to operating sites to enrich operations knowledge and working relationships.

Desirable Criteria: Experience in project management, scheduling, and development of engineering deliverables such as PIDs, PFD, datasheets etc. Experience in operational support and coordination of multidiscipline activities Working knowledge and application of process hazard analysis (HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, QRA, What If, FMEA, etc.) Good understanding of risk management, including the use of risk barrier diagrams (bow-tie) and risk action plans (RAPs) Good understanding of the use of process modelling & simulation and consequence modelling tools Excellent organizational, planning, written and oral communication skills Expertise in design, operation and modification of upstream oil and gas processing facilities Practical experience of field or plant operation or modifications including, oil, gas and water processing. Experience of technical supervision and quality control of specialist consultancies Experience of leading and coaching other engineers
