Duties & Responsibilities

Understands and uses the fundamentals for project management, including how to create and use a detailed schedule, how to create and use a detailed budget, how to accurately track and measure percent complete, how to calculate and use basic earned value metrics, and how to lead a team to achieve the desired results. Assists in capturing new business by leading and/or participating in proposals Manages projects from planning through delivery to ensure OII meets its obligations. Plans engineering project in entirety, including labor and non-labor resources, requirements and acquisitions. Tracks, manages, and impacts projects with respect to progress, schedule, and resource consumption. Knows everything important about project status.  Regularly reports same to superiors, especially any deviations.  Ensures the technical quality of engineering products.  Interfaces with all engineering personnel, other company personnel, and clients.  Uses computerized planning methods. Teaches necessary skills to project engineers.  Performs personnel related administrative duties.  This includes performance reviews, counseling, interviews, career development, timesheets, etc. Generate and submit accurate monthly sales projections. Present periodic status to senior management at Project Management Reviews. Ensure compliance with all project contractual requirements.  

Qualifications

Bachelor or Science degree or equivalent experience, plus strong written and oral communication ability, good people skills and ability to both lead, and be a part of, a team. MBA and/or PMP a plus.  Able to accurately and professionally perform the duties and responsibilities above.  Experienced in successful engineering project execution.  Ten plus years engineering or operations experience with three to five years in aerospace or related projects and minimum 2 years supervisory experience.  Normal office working environment consists of close visual work with numbers/measurements approximately 50 %, US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status required.
