Description

As the Senior Derivatives Accountant you will: Be responsible for performing general ledger accounting for the Company's unregulated energy units, which include journal entries, accounting reconciliations, account analysis, and financial reporting. A pivotal member of the the team you will also be responsible for supporting additional business unit specific analysis and tasks such as revenue-related taxes, budget/forecast and regulatory reporting. Within this role your duties and responsibilities will include: Managing and maintaining accounting records for various regulated energy/unregulated energy operations of the Company. Producing and interpreting timely, accurate analytics, which include variance analysis, key account analytics (i.e., margin analysis). Preparing business unit specific financial reporting information (i.e., Monthly Income Statement and Balance sheet variance analysis, regulatory P&L, regulatory filing). Managing and producing timely account reconciliation. Active and meaningful involvement in sessions with the senior management and business unit leaders in reviewing accounting records and analysis, SOX controls and proper accounting support. Assist in various regulatory proceedings, as they relate to accounting information and record.Identifying gaps in accounting procedures and controls and assisting in improving them for increased efficiency and enhanced control. Assist in efficiency assessment to improve the overall accounting functions. As the successful Senior Derivatives Accountant candidate you will have: Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Familiarity with general ledger and financial reporting systems. Previous experience in a risk or middle office function, or have held a position as a Derivative Accountant. Experience with ETRM (Energy Trading Risk Management Systems) and ERP software. Understanding of hedge and derivative accounting (ASC815), hedge structuring, price volatility, counterparty credit management, risk assessment, trading operations, the gas market value chain, and asset optimization.
