NP was formed in 1972 and owned by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. It was formed with the assets the Government purchased from the then BP Caribbean Ltd for the local marketing arm of the British Petroleum (BP) Group.
NP is the most diversified petroleum marketing company in Trinidad and Tobago and also the English-speaking Caribbean. The fuels manufactured by PETROTRIN. In 1981, NP launched its own brand of lubricants. NP launched the Unleaded Gasoline through its Service Station network on May 9, 1995.
